Today I begin a new life.

"Today I begin a new life.

"I am the master of my abilities...

"...and today will be a great and beautiful day."

I love that movie. But all jokes aside, today is a new day indeed. In a few hours I will let my boss in on a little secret. Today is my last day at this place better known as "a living hell".

Then I will collect my things (along with a few of the company's things because you can never have too many binder clips) and proudly walk out the door and into the parking lot where my car will be parked in the visitors space. Hell, I don't live here so technically I am visiting. And quiet as it's kept I've been parking there for about a month now. Plus, it's the closest spot to the door and I don't want my supervisor to attack me on my way out.

But enough about this stress infested workplace. I'm sure when I leave here my acne will suddenly clear up and I will have more regular bowel movements.

No. I'm not one of those people that leave a job without having another one waiting for them. Fortunately, I was offered a position yesterday and I would need to start tomorrow. I said, "see you then."

But I didn't finish telling you guys about Detroit. Friday night, Kane and I went club hoppin'. I've never done this with my man and I was surprised at how cool it felt. First we went to a club were Magic Johnson was throwing a party then we went to a club that was set up like a bank. Really creative. And sexy too. The only thing un-sexy about it was the old white women that kept following us around.

On stage, there were like seven sets of twins dancing together. But what grossed me out was each sister was dancing with each other! They were all grinding on each other like no one knew they were related. Yuk.

The old white women kept trying to get me to dance on stage with them. Yeah right. I'm not that drunk.

My favorite part of the night was when we got to walk the red carpet and the photographers were snapping pictures of Kane. I love watching my baby pose - he so smooth...

If any of you ever visit Detroit you have to try pizza from Pizza Papalis. Kane told me about this place a couple of months ago but this pizza was so good I ate the cold leftovers like it was fresh out of the oven.

Next time I'm gonna bring my son because he loves the Temptations and I want him to see the Hitsville building. He would love it. He actually told me this morning that he wants David Ruffin's cd for his birthday. Wow.

I may not be able to write as much because I would normally update this site while at work. I'm sure I will want to get used to things at my new job before I start using their internet for non-company related business.

I should call the phone company today and set up internet service at home. Because of my time restraints at work I never had time to wait for the phone company to come out sometime between 9am and 3pm. Why can't they just give you a specific time?

Well, wish me the best. Did you? Gee, thanks. You guys are great!
