One For The Thumb
Or you could just put the fifth ring on the other hand. But, whatever. For those of you unsure of what I speak, I am referring to the Steelers winning the Superbowl yesterday.
Sorry football fans but I don't really care. Speaking of the Superbowl, I was with Kane in Detroit this weekend. You could tell something big was going on because there were footballs fans EVERYWHERE. Despite the fact that rain was pouring down and the weather was really cold and windy, downtown Detroit was so crowded you'd think it was springtime. People just didn't seem to care.
But the worse part was the police directing traffic. There were traffic jams everywhere we went. But, I enjoyed spending time with my baby so it was worth it.
And.
I done rode a plane! I've accomplished another first and it was quite an experience. The ride was fairly smooth on the way to Detroit. However, when we first took off and the plane started moving at a gazillion miles an hour on the runway I was tempted to jump out the window. I might be able to fit through those things.
Then they start going over safety precautions. The pictures in the pamphlet they provided to us was no help. It had pictures of airplanes falling into the ocean, burning in the sky, children being sucked into the jet engine...
Then the airplane lifted off. I knew it was too late so I turned on my air and attempted to distract myself by reading a book. But somehow I couldn't help but to look out the window. What I saw was the New York skyline getting smaller and smaller and suddenly I could see clouds outside my window. It was beautiful. Am I getting cheesy? The sun was shining and the sky was a brilliant blue.
When it was time to land in Detroit, the sky was still blue but underneath us was nothing but clouds. You couldn't even see the city. My spirits plummeted as I put my shades away and pulled on my sweater. I could tell the weather was gonna be depressing.
But, the ride back home was horrible. The plane couldn't seem to get above the clouds so we hit lots of air pockets and experienced major turbulance. I honestly thought we were gonna crash.
There was a lady sitting across the aisle from me with her baby. For some reason she kept looking at me with this horrified look on her face. I wanted to scream at her, "you're scaring me, lady!" She was looking at me like I was making the plane shake. And then I saw people grabbing their seats and looking around and I thought to myself, "Is this normal?"
I got sick and threw up at the airport. So sexy.

Good to hear from you, it's been a while.... I can't bond with you over the superbowl cause I don't do football-- when baseball season comes around then we can talk.
Gald that you've accomplished another first, although I'm sorry that you got sick. I've never flown, so you're braver than I am. It's also good to hear that even though the weather was gloomy, you had a good time.
