Warning!!! My life is boring!

Hey guys!!!

I'm still breathing. Now that we've gotten that cleared up let's talk about what's been going on with me.

My mom's out of the hospital. Hopefully they'll be sending a visiting nurse to help her out because she has lots of trouble getting around. But other than that, her spirits are high.

I spent time at Kane's parents house this weekend and was able to get my car fixed. It runs alot better now.

Had to fork over lots of cash but I still don't have a job unfortunately. Actually, I'm enjoying the time off and once unemployment starts sending my money I will be even better.

Other than that, my life is a bit boring. I don't have a friend to bitch and moan about but I guess that's a blessing in disguise.

I didn't tell you guys about my Valentine's Day though. I had so much fun but it was an emotionally charged night. Wow. I stepped out of the shower and there lying on the bed was a long black dress and leather pumps sitting at the bottom of it. Next to the dress were two boxes.

Inside the boxes was a crystal vase and real rose preserved in gold. Absolutely beautiful. The dress fit perfectly and was a halter dress with the back out except for two strings that tied together. The shoes were strappy leather heels - my baby has good taste!

Then we went to dinner at this upscale seafood restaurant - the food was delicious and Kane said we were definitely returning. Plus this waiter recognized him and said to ask for him the next time we came there. But, it still amazes me that he flew all the way up here just to take me to dinner.... ahhh to be in love.

Today I begin a new life.

"Today I begin a new life.

"I am the master of my abilities...

"...and today will be a great and beautiful day."

I love that movie. But all jokes aside, today is a new day indeed. In a few hours I will let my boss in on a little secret. Today is my last day at this place better known as "a living hell".

Then I will collect my things (along with a few of the company's things because you can never have too many binder clips) and proudly walk out the door and into the parking lot where my car will be parked in the visitors space. Hell, I don't live here so technically I am visiting. And quiet as it's kept I've been parking there for about a month now. Plus, it's the closest spot to the door and I don't want my supervisor to attack me on my way out.

But enough about this stress infested workplace. I'm sure when I leave here my acne will suddenly clear up and I will have more regular bowel movements.

No. I'm not one of those people that leave a job without having another one waiting for them. Fortunately, I was offered a position yesterday and I would need to start tomorrow. I said, "see you then."

But I didn't finish telling you guys about Detroit. Friday night, Kane and I went club hoppin'. I've never done this with my man and I was surprised at how cool it felt. First we went to a club were Magic Johnson was throwing a party then we went to a club that was set up like a bank. Really creative. And sexy too. The only thing un-sexy about it was the old white women that kept following us around.

On stage, there were like seven sets of twins dancing together. But what grossed me out was each sister was dancing with each other! They were all grinding on each other like no one knew they were related. Yuk.

The old white women kept trying to get me to dance on stage with them. Yeah right. I'm not that drunk.

My favorite part of the night was when we got to walk the red carpet and the photographers were snapping pictures of Kane. I love watching my baby pose - he so smooth...

If any of you ever visit Detroit you have to try pizza from Pizza Papalis. Kane told me about this place a couple of months ago but this pizza was so good I ate the cold leftovers like it was fresh out of the oven.

Next time I'm gonna bring my son because he loves the Temptations and I want him to see the Hitsville building. He would love it. He actually told me this morning that he wants David Ruffin's cd for his birthday. Wow.

I may not be able to write as much because I would normally update this site while at work. I'm sure I will want to get used to things at my new job before I start using their internet for non-company related business.

I should call the phone company today and set up internet service at home. Because of my time restraints at work I never had time to wait for the phone company to come out sometime between 9am and 3pm. Why can't they just give you a specific time?

Well, wish me the best. Did you? Gee, thanks. You guys are great!

One For The Thumb

Or you could just put the fifth ring on the other hand. But, whatever. For those of you unsure of what I speak, I am referring to the Steelers winning the Superbowl yesterday.

Sorry football fans but I don't really care. Speaking of the Superbowl, I was with Kane in Detroit this weekend. You could tell something big was going on because there were footballs fans EVERYWHERE. Despite the fact that rain was pouring down and the weather was really cold and windy, downtown Detroit was so crowded you'd think it was springtime. People just didn't seem to care.

But the worse part was the police directing traffic. There were traffic jams everywhere we went. But, I enjoyed spending time with my baby so it was worth it.

And.

I done rode a plane! I've accomplished another first and it was quite an experience. The ride was fairly smooth on the way to Detroit. However, when we first took off and the plane started moving at a gazillion miles an hour on the runway I was tempted to jump out the window. I might be able to fit through those things.

Then they start going over safety precautions. The pictures in the pamphlet they provided to us was no help. It had pictures of airplanes falling into the ocean, burning in the sky, children being sucked into the jet engine...

Then the airplane lifted off. I knew it was too late so I turned on my air and attempted to distract myself by reading a book. But somehow I couldn't help but to look out the window. What I saw was the New York skyline getting smaller and smaller and suddenly I could see clouds outside my window. It was beautiful. Am I getting cheesy? The sun was shining and the sky was a brilliant blue.

When it was time to land in Detroit, the sky was still blue but underneath us was nothing but clouds. You couldn't even see the city. My spirits plummeted as I put my shades away and pulled on my sweater. I could tell the weather was gonna be depressing.

But, the ride back home was horrible. The plane couldn't seem to get above the clouds so we hit lots of air pockets and experienced major turbulance. I honestly thought we were gonna crash.

There was a lady sitting across the aisle from me with her baby. For some reason she kept looking at me with this horrified look on her face. I wanted to scream at her, "you're scaring me, lady!" She was looking at me like I was making the plane shake. And then I saw people grabbing their seats and looking around and I thought to myself, "Is this normal?"

I got sick and threw up at the airport. So sexy.

I have officially ruined your life.
